Introduction
Ready to start an exhibition drill team but don't know where to begin? This series is designed for you.
My name is Adam Jeup, and I've been coaching high school exhibition drill teams since 2009. Over the years I've:
- Led a team to a National High School Drill Team Championship
- Earned a World Championship title in exhibition drill
- Served on the United States Coast Guard Ceremonial Honor Guard
- Worked with JROTC programs across the United States
- Collaborated with organizations including New Guard America and the Royal Hawaiian Guard
This series is built for JROTC instructors, military instructors, coaches, and senior cadets who are starting an exhibition drill team from the ground up. Whether your program has never spun a rifle before or you're taking over a brand-new team, these videos will walk you through the process step by step.
The "30 Days" in this series refers to 30 drill practices, not 30 calendar days. Since most teams practice exhibition drill about twice per week, this plan is designed to guide you through roughly your first semester—perfect for teams beginning in August and preparing for competitions later in the fall.
Each episode focuses on a specific skill or milestone, giving you a structured practice plan that gradually builds toward a competition-ready routine. Don't worry if your team needs extra time on a particular skill. Every team progresses at its own pace, and this series is meant to be a flexible roadmap—not a rigid schedule.
My goal is to make the learning process organized, approachable, and effective so you can confidently build a successful exhibition drill team from scratch.
Good luck, enjoy the journey, and I'll see you in the next lesson.
